Service shutdown overview

Why Neptune is no longer accessible and what happened to your data after the service shutdown on 2026‑03‑06 12:00 UTC.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Neptune SaaS services hosted at neptune.ai have been discontinued on 2026‑03‑06 12:00 UTC following the acquisition by OpenAI.

After of 2026‑03‑06 12:00 UTC you no longer can:

  • Start new runs

  • Access the UI (projects, runs, artifacts)

  • Use the API/SDK to log or retrieve anything

  • Recover or export data (see next section)

Note: This is a permanent shutdown (not an outage). If you’re seeing errors or failed requests, retries will not restore access. Running neptune sync will also not sync locally saved data to Neptune servers.

Data access & export

After the shutdown, all data stored in Neptune was permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

There is no export, no restore, and no recovery path available.

This includes:

  • Projects and workspaces metadata

  • Runs/experiments, models, parameters, metrics, logs

  • Artifacts and uploaded files

  • Dashboards, charts, tables, reports
